ITAWAMBA COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) -- The sheriff of Itawamba County said despite previous reports, no one has been arrested in connection with a Friday night incident in the Carolina community.
Sheriff Chris Dickinson said information his department received from a woman's 911 call did not match up with what they found at the scene.
Originally, a 911 dispatcher was told that a man was accused of holding two women hostage inside a home and firing shots at the home as well.
Dickinson said the man, whose name has not been released, will not be charged.
The sheriff said the investigation is continuing, and the woman involved could be charged at some point with filing a false report.
No other information was available.
