WASHINGTON (WTVA) -- Sears and Kmart are refunding consumers for Kenmore oscillating fan heaters purchased in their stores between September and November 2013.
About 42,500 of the units with model number 127.90914310 were sold.
So far, the companies have received at least seven reports of the fan heaters smoking or catching fire.
Two of the reports include injuries of blistering and smoke inhalation.
The companies say broken motor mounts in the products can cause the units to overheat, catch fire and ignite nearby items, posing a fire and burn hazard to consumers.
People who purchased the Kenmore product are asked to immediately turn off and unplug the recalled fan heaters and return them to any Sears or Kmart store for a full refund.
