ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- A judge will issue a ruling Monday on whether David Parvin will have the chance to make bond while he waits for a new trial.

Parvin, 74, was in court Friday asking the judge to set his bond at $75,000.

He is charged with murder in the shooting death of Joyce Parvin, 68, in 2007.

Parvin was convicted and sentenced to life in prison in 2011, but the Mississippi Supreme Court overturned his conviction and ordered a new trial earlier this year.

He was set to be released on $75,000 bond earlier this year, but the judge revoked bond the day after he got involved in an altercation with a deputy while being turned over from state custody to Monroe County authorities.

A psychiatrist later met with Parvin and issued a ruling saying he didn't think Parvin was dangerous.

Parvin's attorney is asking the court to reinstate the $75,000 bond.
