TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - High school football practice kicks off in four weeks, with the state high school football championships to be played in December.

The MHSAA football championships have been played in Jackson for many years, but it appears that starting this season, they're moving.

Nothing has been finalized yet, but a source tells WTVA Sports that there is a five-year plan on the table for rotating the state high school football championships.

Here's how the plan would work, according to the source:

MSU would host in 2014 and 2016, and Ole Miss would host in 2015 and 2017.

Southern Miss would host in 2018, and USM would also rotate with Montgomery as the host the Mississippi-Alabama All-Star Game. USM would host the All-Star Game in 2015 and 2017.

An MHSAA executive committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, and an announcement could come then.
