NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) -- A Monroe County furniture manufacturer is set to add 100 jobs in Nettleton.

United Furniture Industries-Nettleton is located on the former Peoploungers property.

Supervisor Robert Tomey says the company wants to make improvements at the site.

Supervisors have decided to send a letter to the Mississippi Development Authority requesting grant money to help with the repairs.

"They have roof problems there. We want to fix the roof. They have sprinkler issues and when they store furniture they want to have a good sprinkler system, so that's what the grants will be for," District 5 Supervisor Robert Tomey said.

United Furniture Industries, Inc. opened at the Nettleton site in May of 2011 and currently employs over 350 there.
