IUKA, Miss. (WTVA) -- North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka is set to open its new pulmonary rehab unit.

Patients with all types of breathing difficulties are able to receive treatment which will help them live a more normal life.

The hospital is hosting an open house Thursday from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. to give the public a closer look at what is being offered.

"It's closer to home where people can utilize this service, and we're just excited that we have (this) to offer," hospital administrator Fred Truesdale said.

"Pulmonary rehab will definitely increase their quality of life, and they can enjoy daily functions," respiratory therapist Stephanie Carr said.

The open house will include a limited number of free flu shots, blood pressure checks and foot screenings.
