TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) -- The Thanksgiving holiday enforcement period lasted from 6p.m. on Wednesday, November 21 through midnight on Sunday, November 25.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol released the numbers related to their work over the long holiday weekend.
Here is the breakdown across the Magnolia state:
During the enforcement period, troopers made 7,495 traffic stops.
Of those, there were 199 arrests, including one for public drunkenness, 20 drug arrests, four felony arrests and 174 DUI arrests.
Troopers investigated 175 accidents, including four alcohol-related crashes, 39 accidents with injuries and two resulted in fatalities.
