Man pleads guilty in kidnapping case

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) — A Booneville man will serve eight years in prison for his role in the kidnapping and armed robbery of a Prentiss County father and daughter.

District Attorney Trent Kelly says Anthony Branch, 44, was sentenced after pleaded guilty in Prentiss County Circuit Court.

Branch was among three people charged with taking the father and daughter from a home in the Blackland community in June of 2009.

They took the two to a local bank and told them to withdraw money from their bank account.

Several firearms and cash were taken from the home.

Judge Jim Roberts sentenced Branch to 20 years in prison, but suspended 12 years.
