CORINTH, Miss. (WTVA) _ A Corinth man died from injuries suffered in a traffic accident Monday afternoon.
Police Chief David Lancaster tells WTVA.com Martin Whitehurst, 63, of Taylor Road was traveling west on Highway 72 when his scooter collided with a van driven by Courtney Wilbanks, 38, of Walnut.
Lancaster says Wilbanks turned left onto the highway from New Hope Road and the scooter struck the front end of her van.
He says she got out of the vehicle, but left the van in gear and it rolled across the highway and hit a car in the parking lot of a car dealership.
Whitehurst was taken to Magnolia Regional Health Center where he was pronounced dead.
Lancaster says Whitehurst was a bus driver for the Alcorn School District.
The accident remains under investigation.
