OKOLONA, Miss. (WTVA) -- Firefighters from multiple departments are on the scene of a barn fire on a farm in Okolona.

The call came in around 11:15 Tuesday morning.

Okolona Fire Chief Terry Tucker says the fire in on Ed Edens Farm on Highway 32 just west of Okolona.

Chief Tucker says it started when hay in the barn caught fire.

Firefighters are rolling the hay out of the barn and they just have to burn out.

Crews have saved the barn, but several thousand dollars worth of hay is lost.

Firefighters expect to be at the scene for several hours monitoring the situation.
