Couple charged in store burglary

NEW ALBANY, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two people face charges after the discovery of a burglary in Union County Saturday morning.

Sheriff Jimmy Edwards says a group of hunters noticed the front door of a the store in the Pinedale community had been broken out around 5 a.m. and notified 911.

He says the owners of the business met law officers and determined cigarette and chewing tobacco were taken.

Edwards says shortly afterward, they received information that lead to the arrest of Jessica Bullard, 31, and Timothy Rainey, 28, of County Road 32 in Pinedale and Timothy Rainey, 28.

Edwards say both are charged with burglary of a commercial building.

Bond for Bullard was set at $10,000, while Rainey's bond was set at $25,000.

Edwards says Rainey recently moved to the area from Alabama and has previous arrests there.
