ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) -- The open carry gun law goes into effect Monday, July 1.

In response, Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell has posted signs at all the court houses and county buildings in Monroe County, prohibiting anyone from bringing in any type of weapon.

If you see a sign posted at a building, you are not permitted to bring a weapon of any type into the building.
