High pressure will begin to build into Mississippi and Western Alabama this week with unseasonably warm/hot conditions. Recent rains and lush vegetation will keep the humidity high, hence we will see the heat index during the afternoons of later this week rise to above 100in some areas. Air temperature in most areas will rise well into the 90s most of the next several days.  Those who are not able to adjust to these hot and muggy conditions should reduce outside activities during the day and drink plenty of water.
We will see a few isolated to widely scattered showers and thunderstorms every now and then.  The chances will be mostly in the 20 percent or less category.  Get ready, this stuff could last most of the Summer.
