Overnight we had a cold front pass through the area. This front gave our area rainfall amounts in the category of about a half inch or less in most areas. Most of this activity is now well to our east. We will be clearing out over the next several hours across the area.
We will see another frontal system move into the area by later in the weekend. By Sunday afternoon and evening we will see a good chance for some rain and storms with this next system. Some of the rain will be on the heavy side, while strong to severe storms are not out of the question (especially south and west of the Tupelo area).
A lot of people have been talking about the historic snow storm that is currently getting its act together, up in the Northeastern United States. In that portion of the world they may be counting the snowfall over the next day or two in feet, instead of inches. We will not see any of that activity in our area. So no worries for us.
