All the ingredients are coming together to make a pretty good outbreak of severe weather on our Sunday evening and into early portions of Monday morning. There will be the potential for strong winds, large hail and some tornadoes. Most of the activity will occur across our viewing area between the hours of 7 pm and 3 am. This event has a much better possibility of being severe than the event we had on Friday night and into Saturday morning.
The National Weather Service has most of our area under a moderate advisory when it comes to severe weather. What does this mean? It basically means that there is a greater potential for development of severe weather. There is also a greater potential for the severity of the hail, wind and tornadoes, in other words larger hail, more violent tornadoes and much stronger wind gusts.
One thing that is good news out of all this bad news . . . . . this will be a fast moving system. Most of the severe weather will be to the east of our area around 2 to 4 am in the morning. However, we need to prepare now for what to do on our Sunday evening for the possible severe weather. As mentioned by Matt in an earlier blog, history is on our side for outbreaks of what we saw in April of 2011. Just give a little prayer on our Sunday.
