Debby holds the key to our forecast for the next several days across the viewing area.  We should see the tropical storm trek northward in the near future and then take a dramatic turn to the west over the next several days.  This system should become a hurricane in the next few days as it treks into the Northwestern Gulf of Mexico.  This is the latest forecast track.  However as you know, these tracks are not set in stone.  So the whole Gulf of Mexico should be aware of the storm.  Hence, we should be aware that our weather forecast could change by great leaps and bounds should the track change any in the near future.

Currently, it looks to be mostly dry, mostly humid and mostly very hot over the next week or so.  Most of the highs will be well into the 90s to near 100, while the heat index will exceed 100 on many of the next five to seven days.  The coolest of the next seven days should be Tuesday with highs in the lower 90s as we feel the effects of a cool front.  Once again remember that Debby holds the key to this weather forecast.
