We have seen this pattern several times this Summer across Mississippi and Western Alabama.  The pattern that gives us some scattered and patchy areas of showers and thunderstorms.  The pattern that is called a Northwest Flow Pattern.  It basically means disturbed areas of weather that move along an upper air flow that extends from the northwest to the southeast just above us.  Storms that usually develop in the Central United States flow their way into our area.  At times they move over several hundred miles of real estate before they disappear.  This will be the story for our area once again over the next several days.  Some of the storms at times will be on the strong and heavy side.  The main severe weather culprit will be strong and gusty winds.
