of amory is no longer available during a storm. wtva's taylor smith has more on how people feel about the towns safety during a storm. vo: for years a lot of people in the city of amory have found a place of security in the basement of city hall. today the city of amory's facebook page posted this statement.... saying they have updated there storm shelters and the basement of city hall will not be available. bridge standup: this building right behind me in the basement is actually not a safe place. i spoke with the fire chief today earlier on the phone and he says it is not an approved shelter. vo: in the past they have had plumbing and security issues. because of these reasons, they are closing the basement of city hall when the rest of the building closes. i spoke with some people in the town today and they expressed there concerns about the shelters. sot1: there's not enough we need way more. some residents have fall back plans. sot2: luckily my neighboor had his strom shelter brought in and he has opened it up to my family. the fire chief wanted to express safety to everyone in amory and said that they will make sure to let everyone know ahead of time when a storm is coming so they can plan accordingly. residents can also find a list of all the new updated shelters on the city of amory's website. there are 5 different locations available. in amory taylor smith wtva 9 news the city of saltillo is gettingcloserto improving
