in the last hour. tupelo police say a five-month old baby was kidnapped after the suspectstole an suv. our rebecca butcher spoke with a neighbor who recognized the man charged and joins us now. (rebecca) a woman i spoke to in this neighborhood says this indent the stealing of an suv with a 5- month old in the backis causing her great concern. since she has kids of her own. she says she's seen the suspect who lives right here behind me. pak "we have young kids over here, this could have happened to any of us." i spoke with mariana herrera , who has two kids. she tells me tommy jenkins' frequently walked around the neighborhood. she never expected him to steal a car---owned by a friend of his wife's, according to police((nat pop)) then drive off with ababy girl, just 5 months old, in her carseat. "we always wave at us, he knows us, we know him. it's just scary that he did that." rb: so you wouldn't even suspect it. "no" ms hererra tells me that jenkins' son mowed her yard. other neighbors tell me jenkins lived at this home...and comment he was stressed and snapped. he was quickly located at starbucks on west main...and treid to flee but was taken into custody. the child was okay. now mothers are being more cautious.. "we're going to try and have everything that i need in the car. and try not to leave my kids in the car."
