reminding anyone withan ambitions for a career in law enforcement to apply to the upcoming mississippi highway patrol cadet class. about 60 new troopers graduated from this class back in march. the new additions put the total number of troopers statewide at 520.... but officials say that's still short of the number of the 650 officers needed. the applicants who are accepted in the school will face 20 weeks of training that is physically and mentally demanding. the starting salary is about 38-thousand dollars trooper applications can be picked up at mississippi highway patrol offices statewide. they may also be downloaded from the agency's website. the application deadline is june 8th a public hearing has been set in lafayette county to discuss the placement of a new electric substation in the taylor community... northern district public service commissioner brandon presley has announced the hearing will be held wednesday, june 6th at 2 p-m at the taylor town hall. the substation is needed to accommodate a new tva transmission line that will run from oxford to water valley. if approved, the substation is expected to improve reliability for south lafayette county suicide monday in central tennessee. authorities say it began as a domestic dispute at this home in rutherford county. sheriff's deputies were first called to the home friday after 29-year-old sean ganey threatened suicide. ganey was taken to the hospital for evaluation and all the guns in the home were removed. sometime between friday and monday, ganey was able to get a gun. on monday ganey shot and killed his wife and in-laws before turning the gun on himself. a child found inside the home was not harmed in the incident. ageorgia murder suspect may be hiding in south mississippi... sandy springs investigators are looking for patrick nolan he's accused of killing amber holliman, leaving her body inside their home then setting the house on fire saturday warrants were then obtained for murder, aggravated assault with intent to murder and arson in the first degree. police report nolan has ties in mississippi, colorado and florida. if you have any information on his whereabouts, you are asked to call 911 also in south mississippi one person dies in a rollover accident on highway 49 forrest county coroner said tuesday morningone person was killedina rollover accident involving two vehicles the accident happened on u.s. highway 49 in hattiesburg. the two vehicles involved in the crash were a smallnissan van and nissan altima. two people were in the van at the time when it rolled over onto a fence, and one person was inside the altima, which ran into the median. the person in the van during the accident died at the hospital. police arrest a texas woman for reporting a false amber alert. margarita levrie taken into custody saturday afterpolice determined levrie lied when she reported her car stolen... with her 10-month old baby in the back seat. police issued a stern warning about making false reports. "we just need people to know that you can't do anything like that because you're utilizing resources that could be actually used for people in dire need of a police response." prairie police department ) police confirm levrie's car was stolen... but the child inside was let go before the theft took place. the child was also revealed to be four years old. investigators say the car is still missing. an investigation into the incident is ongoing. firefighters battle flames at a condominium complex firefighters rushing to the scene at the cedar point villages in stuart which is near fort pierce the martin county sheriff's office says one section of the complex is completely engulfed in flames. at least ten units are said to be completely destroyed. the complex is said to be a fifty-five and over community. no injuries are being reported. more than a hundred firefighters battle a four- alarm fire in southwest houston. the blaze breaking out early monday at the national
