there will be a better chance for strong and severe thunderstorms by late-night and during the overnight hours tonight. the risk of severe weather is expect to come in the form of a complex or cluster of storms pushing southward out of the mid-mississippi river valley into northeast mississippi. there still appears to be potential for a strong complex of thunderstorms to develop over west tennessee sometime late this afternoon through this evening. that complex is anticipated to push southward into our area, bringing with it the potential for strong, damaging winds and small hail with it. there are also signs that a second complex could try to develop at some point between tuesday morning and afternoon. but as of right now, the more likely scenario would feature a single strong complex of storms pushing through between 9 p.m. tonight and 6 a.m. tomorrow. temperatures will begin wednesday in the upper 60s to lower 70s. then as we head into your wednesday, expect a little more cloud coverage with some heat and humidity. temperatures should climb into the upper 80s to near 90, thanks to what cloud coverage is left behind. those clouds should give way to more sunshine by the afternoon. a few spotty showers and storms are still not out of the question for wednesday afternoon. we'll be in the lower 70s just about every morning beyond that into late-week. we'll likely see sunshine with afternoon spotty showers and storms as well, all the way through the weekend. temperatures heat up as well. by friday, highs are well into the lower 90s with heat index values in the upper 90s. then by the weekend, there are signs we may be even hotter with highs in the lower to mid-90s and heat index values in the upper 90s to near 100. this pattern continues into early next week. thanks for staying with us at wtva
