widely-scattered showers and thunderstorms. most if not all of which should remain below severe levels. still a few of these storms may persist for the first few hours of the evening but thunderstorm activity is generally expected to lessen in coverage and in intensity as the night moves forward. if a storm nears your location you could experience a heavy downpour, lightning, and perhaps some hail and strong storm outflow winds. overnight, partially cloudy skies will remain intact with temperatures falling into the near 70 range. there will also be a potential for some isolated patches of fog by tomorrow morning.we'll gradually drop rain chances a bit into your wednesday and thursday, leading to a little more sunshine and temperatures climbing into the upper 80s to near 90. heat index values will likely be in the lower 90s for most areas. a few spotty showers and storms are possible during this time frame. but overall, rain chances will be much less.going into the weekend, we are going to be keeping a close track on a broad area of surface low-pressure currently near the yucatan peninsula. the disturbance is anticipated to slowly meander into the northern gulf of mexico and in the general direction of the gulf coast within the next several days. this disturbance does stand a moderate (40%) chance of taking on some increasingly tropical characteristics and further developing. regardless of further development, however, we are confident that this will lead to continued and also increased chances for rain heading through the holiday weekend and right up to and through memorial day as well. heavy rain and the potential for localized flash flood look to be the primary concerns with this incoming system. one grocery store did not
