change the way your water usage isread.. wtva's shante sumpter went out with crews to learn more about it most of the homes in tupelo don't have the new system yet, as crews just began installingthem ontuesday. for much of today they were here in the lawndale area. if you live near bob white drive..you may have wondered what all this was all about... crews continued to install automatic meterinfrastructures. ..expectedto changethe way water usage is tracked at about 16,000 homes... what that means is meters will be read electronically, and they will be able to be read from the billing department with the computer. the readings will be in real time..help workers and..tupelo water and light say it won't cost customers any extra money.. meter readers have a lot less risk. if they're reading it from a computer instead of walking up and down the street. and as the new systems are installed those homes will began reading electronically immediately. all homes in the area are expected to have them by april of 2020. in tupelo ss wtva 9 news.
