itta bena.... the greenwood commonwealth reports37-year-old jimmy e. risher died monday night after his 2015 a-t-802 plane went down in a field.... the leflore county coroner says risher was spraying a field fora farmerwhen the plane went down... the cause of the crash remains under investigation by the federal aviation administration and the national transportation safety board.... dick's sporting goods.... one of the nation's largest retailers for outdoor guns... announces today... they will no longer sell assault - style rifles... the announcement coming on the same day that the students from marjory stoneman douglas high school return..... the company sent out this tweet this morning, stating it is deeply disturbed and saddened by the events in parkland... the ceo of dick's sporting goods alsosaying, "the parkland students got to us." forthose high schoolers it's a surreal return back to the classroom...they were able to collect backpacks and other belongings they dropped as they fled during the mass shooting at marjory stoneman douglas. the alleged gunman... nikolas cruz... opened fire on february 14-th... killing 14 of their fellow classmates and three educators.... and injuring dozens more. meanwhile, alabama lawmakers are considering a bill that would allow any trained school employee or citizen volunteerto join an armed security force in the state... the bill was filed thursday and has been referred to a committee for consideration... former trump campaign chairman paul manafort has pleaded not guilty to a re- written set of charges in the investigation russia's 20-16 election meddling.... the charges include money laundering, conspiracy and making false statements.... the defense and prosecution agreed on a september 17th start-date for manafort's trial.... his not-guilty plea comes after rick gates pleaded guilty last week to reduced charges in exchange for cooperating with prosecutors.... the wooden casket carrying the late reverend billy grahamis nowat the u-s capitol.... a military guard carefully ascended the steps of the u-s capitolthis morningwith the body of "america's pastor."... president trump and first lady melania, along with members of the graham family, and lawmakers stood in silence as the casket made its way into the rotunda.... this is only the fourth time that a private citizen has been bestowed with the honor of lying in the rotunda.... the public will be able to pay their final respects to the closed casket through thursday.... reverend graham passed away last week at the age of 99.... he will be laid to rest on the grounds of the billy graham library in charlotte on friday. school threats have been dominating much of our headlines...a hit list and a second arrest at nettleton school is another one. lee county authorities reported last night they arrested another juvenile after a they got info of a student having a "hit list" on february 19th.. a juvenile was arrested later that day.... the department was unable to obtain the "list," and the stuent admitted the story was made up....thejuvenile was arrested for not being truthful with law enforcement. crime stoppers and tupelo police need your help searching for three people accused of stealing from a walmart store... police say it happened at the walmart on west main street last week. two women and one man entered the store and went to the customer service desk.... the trio are accused of taking an undetermined amount of money from the desk.... the following day, police responded to the walmart on north gloster street for the same type of theft. and on the same day police in booneville responded to a similar theft at a walmart there... authorities have not yet said the incidents are related but the thefts in both cities are very similar.... if you have any information on either incident call crimestoppers. w-t-v-a meteorologist joel young returns with a complete look at your w-t-v-a severe weather authority forecast. that and more as w-t-v-a nine news at noon continues.
