a vigil was held to remember the mother of a tupelo high school basketball player who died in a car accident over the weekend. wtva's madison heil attended the vigil and joins us in the studio with how she was remembered. emily, it was an emotional night as so many people came out to remember erica walls the mother of tupelo high school senior tahj crump. "she did an awesome job you know the whole family has."a packed house tonight as family friends and community members came together to remember the life of erica walls. the vigil put on by the tupelo high school swim team set out to lift up tahj and his family."tonight we hope he feels just peace and comfort about the whole situation and that he would just know that he has people at his school that care and love him so much"a feeling of comfort indeed. the love and support could be felt throughout the room as everyone exchanged prayers, memories and tears for the kind woman known as such a supportive parent."his mom has always been right there step for step to help him and been a very good booster club parent. and just very supportive of tahj."as a member of the basketball team, tahj's teammates have been there for him every step of the way. they even made shirts that say 21strong."each day im hearing of them going over and visiting with him and i think they need him as much as he need them and that's a good." a go-fund-me-accounty has been set up for crump's family. if you'd like to make a donation you can find the link on our website. emily back
