meanwhile, we are learning more about a student who allegedly threatened to harm students at caledonia high school. lowndes county sheriff's investigators made a surprising discovery at the student's home wtva's shante sumpter joins us live with more lowndes county sheriff's investigators say right now they have no credible evidence to prove that student ever brought a gun here on school property. however they did find a gun, bullets, and a bullet proof vest at his home. it gives you a sense of relief to know they are following up, but how does a child in high school get a hold of a gun. many parents in caledonia were surprised a student who allegedly threatened the school, had the artillery to do so. lowndes county sheriff's department says after being made aware of threats on social media by the student. they searched his home and found a handgun, old bullet resistant vest, and small amount of ammunition at his home. which was not logged by a former officer with the department. i think it's sad we have gotten to a age where children are sad to even go to school and children think that's there last option to harm other people. tag: the student in question is no longer in classes here at caledonia high school. i was told he is awaiting a hearing with lowndes county administration. in the meantime this case is being investigated by the lowndes county sheriff's department in lowndes county, shante sumpter, wtva 9 news. the sheriff's department also revealed that the gun found in the student's room actually belonged to a former officer with the department and it should have been logged into evidence roughly ten years ago. chief deputy marc miley says that former officer could be prosecuted for not doing that. stinger
