the government will shutdown yet again tonight at midnight. wtva's madison heil joins us from the breaking news center with the latest. emily, that is correct. the senate has recessed until 12:01 a-m without passing a spending bill....making this the second government shutdown in three weeks. . the senate planned to vote early friday morning on a spending bill that would pour billions of dollars into the military and domestic programs but that vote was blocked by republican senator rand paul. paul is protesting the spending bill due to the return of trillion-dollar deficits. while the government's authority to spend some money would expire at midnight, there weren't likely to be many clear immediate effects. now if the measure passes in the early morning hours, the government would open in the morning on schedule. again the senate will reconvene at 12:01 a-m eastern time. emily back to
