a deputy's car damaged and a suspect behind bars. wtva's madison heil joins us live from the lafayette county sheriff's office with the story. that's right....here at the lafayette county sheriff's office one patrol car is damaged after an oxford man led deputies on a chase and rammed into a deputy's vehicle. that chase started late tuesday night when the panola county sheriffs office contacted the office here about a driver in a stolen vehicle. the driver crossed over the county line and was spotted by deputies near harmontown at 11pm tuesday. when deputies attempted to pull the driver over a chase occured. during the chase the suspect rammed the stolen car into the side of a deputy's car in an attempt to escape. the deputy was not injured but the car was heavily damaged. the chase then ended on highway 7 south near the junction gas station. deputes then arrested 34-year old christopher roper of oxford with no further problems. roper was charged by lafayette county with aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and felony fleeing, then transferred back to panola county. panola county charged roper with grand larceny and also felony fleeing among several other charges. again no one was injured in the chase. reporting live in lafayette county, madison heil wtva nine news. a union county man
