In March 2016, Symone was excited to move to the warm state of Mississippi from her hometown just outside of Chicago.

As a former Saluki at Southern Illinois University, she was extremely active on campus. Symone was the president of the National Association of Black Journalists, the only female sports reporter for the campus' newspaper, a member of several organizations, and worked as a producer and news reporter in the WSIU-TV newsroom.

In the midst of all that, as a sophomore, she interned in the sports department at WSIL-TV in Carterville then transitioned into an associate producer position where she worked for the next two years.

When she's not in the newsroom, she enjoys chatting with her Illinois family, working out, watching sports, catching up on reality TV or listening to music.

Symone looks forward to continuing to grow in her career and sharing important news and events with the WTVA viewers.
