Police investigate double shooting in Bay St. Louis

Police in Mississippi are investigating after officers responding to a reported shooting found two people suffering from gunshot wounds and a third struck by a vehicle.

BAY ST. LOUIS, Miss. (AP) — Police in Mississippi are investigating after officers responding to a reported shooting found two people suffering from gunshot wounds and a third struck by a vehicle.

Local news outlets report that police in Bay St. Louis responded to the call around 3 p.m. Sunday. They found a crashed van in the front yard of a home. Police Chief Gary Ponthieux two people inside the van had been shot. Officers also found a third person who had been hit by a vehicle.

Police say all three people were taken to hospitals.

Police haven't released any details about the circumstances that led up to the shooting and van crash. They also didn't immediately announce any arrests.
