HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Two people, including a Southern Miss football player, have been arrested on a charge of armed robbery.

WDAM-TV reports 21-year-old Edward Wilkins and 19-year-old Michael Bailey were taken into custody early Friday.

Bond information for Bailey was not immediately available. City Court Judge Jerry Evans set bond at $75,000 for Wilkins, who's listed as a redshirt junior defensive back on the USM 2014 football roster.

The university, in a news release, said Wilkins has been indefinitely suspended and will not participate in any team activities while the case is pending. Coach Todd Monken says he's aware of the situation, is trying to get more information and would have no further comment at this time.
