NASSAU, Bahamas (WTVA/USM Athletics) – Southern Miss never left the game in doubt, as it defeated the Real Deal Shockers, 93-69, Sunday afternoon. The Golden Eagles were a perfect (5-0) on its tour of The Bahamas.
“I thought we made progress over the week,” said head coach Donnie Tyndall. “The practices were certainly beneficial. The games have proven what I thought and hoped, that we have a versatile team with guys who can play multiple positions. I’m excited to get back and have our newcomers join the team and feel like we’re headed for an exciting season.”
Southern Miss was led by Aaron Brown with 19 points, six assists and four rebounds. Michael Craig had 15 points and five rebounds and Daveon Boardingham had 12 points and six boards.
Norville Carey added 10 points. Jerrold Brooks added nine points, eight assists and six rebounds and Neil Watson had six points, eight assists, seven steals and six rebounds.
Davon Hayes had eight points, Matt Bingaya had seven points and eight boards and Chip Armelin added six rebounds.
