R.L. Horton re-signs with Panteras de Miranda in Venezuela

HATTIESBURG, Miss. (WTVA/USM Athletics) – Former Southern Miss men’s basketball player R.L. Horton has re-signed with Panteras de Miranda in Venezuela of the Liga Profesional de Baloncesto. The one-year contract runs through the 2012-13 season.

The Jackson, Miss., native played for the Golden Eagles from 2007-11. He finished his career 14th on the scoring list with 1,511 points. He is also sixth in three-pointers made with 121, 10th in free throws made (332), 16th in assists (268) and 17th in field goals made (529). In 2008, he was named to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.

Last year, Horton played 34 games for Panteras de Miranda, leading the team with 15.8 points, while also averaging 3.0 assists, 2.8 rebounds and 2.3 steals.
