With the game tied at 3-3, Southern Miss got a sacrifice fly from Breck Kline in the sixth, the second of two RBI for the redshirt freshman in the contest, and added a solo home run to left by Blake Brown in the seven to left to give the visitors the lead, but ULM knotted the score again at 5-all with a two-run homer by Corben Green in the bottom of the seventh.
A.J. Glasshof, the third of five Golden Eagle pitchers, suffered the loss as he allowed two runs on two hits over an inning of work to fall to 0-1. The loss overshadowed a nice relief outing from Jay Myrick who gave up a run on two hits over four innings and five strikeouts.

ULM took a 3-2 lead in the third as they hit into bases-loaded double play by Tidwell, before Kline drove in his first Golden Eagle run with an RBI single in the fourth.
