GREENVILLE, N.C. (WTVA) - Southern Miss won its third game in a row on Wednesday night, defeating the home East Carolina Pirates 72-60.
The Golden Eagles (18-3, 5-1 Conference USA) did not have a single player with more than 13 points in Wednesday night's win, but five players scored in double digits.
Southern Miss was led offensively by Jonathan Mills' team-high 13 points. LaShay Page was the only other USM starter with more than 8 points, as Page finished with 12.
The big production for Southern Miss came off of the bench on Wednesday. Neil Watson (11 points), Darnell Dodson (10), Torye Pelham (10) and Cedric Jenkins (6) combined to score over half of the team's points (37/72, 51.4%).
Miguel Paul led all scorers in the game with 21 points. East Carolina (9-10, 0-6) had a pair of scorers with 14 points, as starters Darrius Morrow and Erin Straughn each finished with 14.
However, the rest of ECU's team combined for just 11 points.
Southern Miss visits Central Florida on Saturday.
