NEW ORLEANS, La. (WTVA) — The Ole Miss Rebels have lost a football assistant to the National Football League.
Wesley McGriff is leaving his job in Oxford as co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach to coach the secondary for the New Orleans Saints.
McGriff came to Ole Miss in 2012 from Vanderbilt.
He's a 22-year coaching veteran in the collegiate ranks.
Ole Miss football coach Hugh Freeze congratulated McGriff on Twitter Monday evening, saying the Saints were getting a good coach and a good man.
