OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA)-- The University of Mississippi Incident Review Committe (IRC) released its report today after reviewing an incident on campus during election night.
The IRC reported that student misrepresentations on social media, including Facebook and Twitter, were behind the events that happened on campus November 6th.
The IRC has forwarded the names of 14 students to university higher-ups for further investigation.
The committee reported that after the election, a crowd of 400 students, mostly freshmen, were drawn social media reports of a riot. They said the majority of the students were "curious spectators". The report said there was no property damage, no injuries and that the night was not a "riot".
