BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - Former Lafayette County quarterback Jeremy Liggins has enrolled at Northeast Mississippi Community College and will play football for the Tigers this fall.
Lynn Smither, the wife of NEMCC head football coach Ricky Smither, announced Liggins' arrival in Booneville on Twitter Sunday evening, saying "Its[sic] official Jeremy Liggins is a NE Tiger!!!! Welcome to the family of NE Tigers!!!!".
A source confirms to WTVA that Liggins moved onto campus on Sunday and will begin classes at Northeast on Monday. The source also says that Liggins signed a Letter of Intent on Saturday.
Scout.com previously reported on Saturday that Liggins would play a year of football at this fall in the hopes of graduating in the spring before moving on to play at Ole Miss.
If Liggins were to do that, he would have three years of eligibility left to play with the Rebels.
Liggins originally signed with LSU in 2012 after his senior season with the Commodores.
