STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA/MSU Athletics) - Mississippi State takes on its third consecutive four-game weekend slate when the fifth-ranked Bulldogs (11-0) host first-time foe Saint Joseph’s (2-4) this weekend at Dudy Noble Field. Due to anticipated wintry weather, the weekend series schedule has been altered.
The MSU-SJU series gets underway Friday at 4 p.m. followed Saturday by a single game at 12 p.m. The Bulldogs and the Hawks close out the weekend with a Sunday twinbill set for a 1 p.m. start.
Sophomore lefty Jacob Lindgren (1-0, 1.59) is tabbed for his third pitching start of the season in Friday’s series opener. Freshman lefty Jack Stover (0-0, 0.00) is expected to draw his first career start for the Hawks.
State begins the weekend with an SEC-best .336 team batting average and No. 3 league rankings in both staff earned run average (1.55) and fielding percentage (.980). The Bulldog defense leads the SEC with 14 double plays turned.
The stadium ticket office opens two hours prior to each game. General admission tickets cost $5 and are available each day and are good for open seating in the Dudy Noble Field grandstand where season ticket patrons are not present.
