TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Mississippi State's football team had an open week this week, but plenty of other Bulldog sports teams were on the fields in Tupelo on Saturday.

Ballard Park is the site for Mississippi State Club Sportsfest this weekend. Julie Rhoads from Mississippi State and Seth Gaines from Tupelo Parks and Rec organized the weekend event.

"It's a great way to showcase different unique sports that not many people get to see everyday," said Julie Rhoads, the Graduate Assistant for Intramural and Sports Clubs at Mississippi State. "For sure, everyone's into SEC football, games going on with Alabama today, but it's a wonderful opportunity for Seth [Gaines] and for our sports at Mississippi State to get some publicity."

The event features a handful of sports teams from Mississippi State, like the rugby team, as you see Joe Pongetti on a nice scoring play there in a intra-squad scrimmage. In addition to rugby, the MSU lacrosse, soccer and ultimate frisbee teams are also a part of the event.

The soccer team is hosting a mini-tournament, which started on Friday and runs through Sunday.

All four of the club sports teams were in action Saturday. Other schools involved in this weekend's games include Tulane, Ole Miss, Tennessee, Arkansas State and Memphis.

Ole Miss will have its own Sports Club Festival Weekend from October 19-21. That event will also take place at Ballard Park.
