ATLANTA (WTVA/AP) - Justin Maxwell had a career-high four hits, including two homers, rookie Lucas Harrell won his first career start at Turner Field, and the Houston Astros snapped a four-game losing streak with a 3-2 victory over the Atlanta Braves on Saturday night.
The Astros won for just the fourth time in 33 games, improving to 11-45 on the road - the worst mark in the majors.
Paul Maholm (9-7) lost his Atlanta debut despite allowing just three runs, six hits and two walks. He struck out eight in seven innings of work, but left the game with Atlanta trailing 3-2.
The Braves had won two straight and nine of 10.
Harrell (9-7) allowed two runs and four hits with five walks and five strikeouts in six innings. Since losing at Texas on May 16, the right-hander is 3-2 with a 2.26 ERA.
Maholm gave up a two-run home run to Maxwell in the fourth inning, but the Braves rebounded to tie the game on a two-RBI single from Dan Uggla in the sixth inning.
But Maxwell launched a 444-foot home run (distance per ESPN) to lead-off the top of the seventh, giving the Astros the lead for good.
Wilton Lopez got two outs to earn his second career save, and first since 2010. He had converted one of his previous 11 save opportunities.
