COLUMBIA, South Carolina - (WTVA) - A quick start didn't carry over for Mississippi State as they fell to fellow conference opponent 14th ranked South Carolina 34-16 in Columbia.

A first quarter touchdown run by quarterback Dak Prescott gave the Bulldogs an early lead but as the game progressed throughout the first half everything seemed to go the way of the Gamecocks.

Prescott, worked his magic in the fourth quarter with an 11 yard run but the game was still in South Carolina's favor.

Mississippi State is now (4-4) and (1-3) on the season.

The Bulldogs return to action on Saturday, November 9th against Texas A&M in College Station, Texas.
