TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA/AP) - One game is a rematch, the other might feel like one, and, no matter the outcome, there will be a former Rebel and a former Bulldog playing for both sides in the Super Bowl.
For the second straight year in the AFC, the New England Patriots will host the Baltimore Ravens with a trip to the Super Bowl on the line.
In the NFC, it will be San Francisco traveling to Atlanta, with the Falcons defense trying to stop a versatile, running quarterback for the second straight week.
On Saturday, Colin Kaepernick led the Niners to the NFC title game with a 45-31 win over Green Bay. On Sunday, Atlanta edged Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks 30-28.
Last year, New England beat Baltimore 23-20 in the AFC title game.
The Patriots beat Houston 41-28 on Sunday to advance. Baltimore beat Denver 38-35 in two overtimes Saturday.
As for the former Mississippi State and Ole Miss players playing for the Lombardi Trophy, each school has four representatives - one on each of the four remaining teams.
For Mississippi State, Pernell McPhee (Baltimore), Kyle Love (New England), Anthony Dixon (San Francisco) and Charles Mitchell (Atlanta) remain.
Michael Oher (Baltimore), Brandon Bolden (New England), Patrick Willis (San Francisco) and Peria Jerry (Atlanta) remain to represent the Rebels.
As a whole, the Southeastern Conference has 48 players on the final four teams, the most of any conference in the country (the Big Ten is second with 31 and the ACC is third with 26).
