TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Pontotoc's Bill Russell will be one of the coaches in the Mississippi-Alabama Girls' All-Star Basketball Game on March 15 in Montgomery, Ala.
Five area players are on Mississippi's roster: Jayla Chills of Ripley, Christy Clark of New Site, Alexus Malone of Oxford, Kiandria Patterson of Columbus and Jazmine Spears of New Albany.
Just two area players are on Mississippi's boys' roster - Kenny Paul Geno of Booneville and Jamari Johnson of Noxubee County.
The Mississippi Association of Coaches also announced Thursday the rosters for the North-South games on July 12 in Clinton.
Area players on the North girls' team include Moesha Calmes of New Hope, Kim Mallory of Itawamba AHS, Kayla Russell of Pontotoc, D.J. Sanders of New Hope, Blair Schaefer of Starkville, Shandricka Sessom of Byhalia and Alontra Tucker of Ashland.
Winona's Veronica Helms and Oxford's Shayne Linzy will coach the North girls.
Area players on the North boys' team include Marcus Greer of North Pontotoc, Jack Nichols of Booneville, Daniel Simmons of Biggersville and Raheem Sorrell of Corinth.
Booneville's Michael Smith will be one of the coaches for the North boys.
