WATER VALLEY, Miss. (WTVA) -- A big decision comes at the end of November for Mississippi Senator Thad Cochran.

Mr. Cochran served Mississippi as a member of the U.S. House of Representatives for three terms beginning in 1973.

The senator then moved on to the U.S. Senate in 1979.

After some 40 years in office, Senator Thad Cochran will decide whether or not to run for re-election in November, 2014.

"Just trying to do a good job right now. I'm not focused on the future right now-just carrying out my current responsibilities. That's a full time job," Senator Cochran said.

Cochran says while in office he will continue to focus on his first objective which is the security interests of this county.
