OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) — A federal judge has sentenced a man to 10 years in prison in a fraud case that had victims from Yalobusha County.
54-year-old Bobby Sanford of Courtland found out his punishment Wednesday in U.S. District Court.
He pleaded guilty last October to wire fraud and money laundering.
Prosecutors say Sanford worked to scam people out of their money.
Judge Sharion Aycock not only gave Sanford time in prison but ordered him to pay back $489,395.
