LOUISVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) -- Two men face burglary and vandalism charges in connection with the theft and destruction of property at Winston Academy over the weekend.

Sheriff Jason Pugh says Vernon Brown, 20, and Hunter Glass, 18, will appear in court Tuesday or Wednesday for an initial appearance.

Pugh says both men admit to breaking into the school and doing a large amount of damage.

He says they took computers, a video camera, cash, and other items from the school.

Pugh says most of the items were recovered, including several computers a dive team from Philadelphia pulled from a Winston County creek.

Louisville Police Chief L. M. Claiborne says many of the items taken or vandalized are beyond repair.

Pugh says the men have no ties to the school and revenge was not a motive for the burglary.

He says the Mississippi Highway Patrol and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics are assisting the investigation.

Pugh says the community has been very supportive in working to help the school recover.

He says some people volunteered to help with cleanup, while surrounding areas have offered any assistance to help the school.

Classes are expected to resume Tuesday.
