WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA)--Voters in Webster County make a decision today on whether the old courthouse should be renovated or build a new facility.
The much anticipated non-binding referendum took place Tuesday.
The Webster County Courthouse was significantly damaged by fire in January 2013.
A private adjuster estimated renovation costs to be around $7 million, but an insurance company only wanted to pay $3 million.
Here's a look at the unofficial results:
1,119 support replacing the old building
472 support renovation
Supervisors may decide to discuss the election results on or before their next meeting set for April 21.
