WEBSTER COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi Department of Environmental Quality is expected in Webster County Wednesday to check out the levee break that emptied a private 15-acre lake.

It happened around 2:30 p.m. Monday in the Clarkson area.

Webster County emergency management director Barry Rushing says no homes were damaged but the water did wash out two roads.

Rushing says it appears the levee break was natural.
