EUPORA, Miss. (WTVA) — A man is being held in the Webster County Jail after a standoff with law enforcement in Stewart.

Daniel Mitchell is charged with two counts of aggravated assault on police officers and two counts of simple assault on police officers.

The sheriff's department says Mitchell fired a gun at deputies Sunday night after they had responded to a domestic dispute at a home on Mitchell Road.

Mitchell surrendered peacefully after a lengthy negotiation with Sheriff Tim Mitchell.
